Richard Turner was an attorney for four decades before becoming a published poet and nature photographer. As Deputy Attorney General in the California Department of Justice, he served as then Governor of California Ronald Reagan's personal lawyer, not because Reagan aligned with him politically but because Reagan respected him and didn't want a rubber stamp. Turner's path, from the hallowed halls of state government to the sanctuaries of nature and poetry, is as unconventional as it is inspirational.
